Memorial Day

First named Decoration Day,

To honor the fallen on both sides of the Civil War.

It matters not how, why, or who started that Day.

What matters is that we honor all Fallen Veterans and respect their sacrifice.

That Day, Memorial Day today, has been set aside to remember all fallen Veterans,

Of all Wars, and remember their sacrifice, that allows all Americans to live Free today,

By God Grace, and our founding fathers courage, America is just what it is meant to be, Free.

This Nation by this Day, shows honor and respect to those that gave that Ultimate Sacrifice of life.

They knowing within they had to give all, leaving families and friends behind,

So all could live free today.

This price they paid willingly to bring Freedom to others around the World,

And to maintain Freedom for all Americans, that our Flag waves Free today.

That long line of courage will continue because of them,

And will die if we choose to forget the price they paid,

By not setting aside one day in time to honor and respect them on this Special Day,

Memorial Day.

Lord, lead us, open our eyes to see and our hearts in love to remember the price they paid,
