Humble

Humble 

Lord, make and keep me humble. 

When my head gets bigger than my heart. 

When self looks only to find satisfaction from within. 

When giving stops and receiving becomes the focus of life. 

When good is no longer seen and bad becomes king. 

When the things of the world become the center of life. 

When I stop seeing God's creation as God created it to be. 

When self feels, "done it on my own." 

When I have forgotten, "God's purpose of life." 

When I no longer see the Cross of Christ, 

And hear His voice and the words, "I love you." 

When I walk alone filled with emptiness, 

Make my voice cry out to You in prayer, 

Keep me humble, oh Lord, keep me humble. 

Keep my eyes looking up into Your Face, 

Keep my ears open to hear Your word, 

Keep my mind ready to receive Your guidance and will, 

Keep my hands helping those in need, 

And keep my voice daily praising Your Glory.
